Born and raised in the rural Midwest southeast of St. Louis, Rich first started playing trumpet in elementary school. ”
I was most fortunate that my parents got me started early and provided a private music education on several instruments.”
During high school Rich directed the school pop band and began playing guitar and electric bass in his first rock ensemble. “At home my Sister would spin records of great rock and roll artists of the day and that really got me hooked .” While attending Southern Illinois University Rich played in regional rock and blues bands.
After taking a break in performance to raise his family and pursue a career, in Sales, Rich found a renewed interest in his art and studied classical guitar for several years as well as further extensive studies in bass guitar. Rich now enjoys creating and recording music with his family and writing his own compositions. After playing with local rock and blues groups, Rich recently joined the premier Neil Diamond tribute band, The Diamond Collection (TDC) and enjoys being a part of the cast honoring the timeless compositions of Neil Diamond with Producer, Kenny LaBelle. “I’ve had so many positive influences and remarkable mentors that have encouraged me, thanks to all for their support.”
